I used to believe and still do believe that THIS (the type of housing illustrated above) is the truly ideal and very best solution-for-all-your-needs type of deal that there is readily available out there, on the more-than-volatile market...
Many will go for a triplex instead - but this duplex model is best in my luminous book!
You can reside in one half - and carefully select your nextdoor tenant!
Either an up-and-comer who is career-oriented but not quite ready to buy his own piece of real estate yet...
Or a family member you can trust - and live nextdoor to, granted...!
And you've got it made!
The rent collected for half of a duplex like this will cover all your property taxation costs - and some of the other costs that come with ownership too!
You are yourself with a roof over your head - minimal income is needed for basics such as nourishment and heating bills, and that can easily come from interest money generated by just a few wise investments, therefore not touching the capital one iota...
Et voilà, really...

All one needs to do afterwards, is kick back the slippers and enjoy oneself on a PERMANENT VACATION - who needs work anyways, huh?

It would have been so simple.

But it is not for me.

For I am a bohemian, a nomad at heart - a rebel with a luminous cause.

Such types cannot own.
Owning is beneath them.

Money does not bring happiness, though - raising a fortune won't equate bliss, EVER!
No, folks, cash does not bring joie de vivre... But it does make everything more comfortable!
