Who said there was no life after HOCKEY?
Several NHL players, virtually illiterate and uneducated, take to business ventures once their playing days are behind them - and you can't go wrong when you target your fanbase's basic visceral needs of food - food - and more food!
Once you've played hockey, you know that after the ice there's nothing better than good old frozen food - that pops into the microwave or, at least, a conventional oven for no more than 20 minutes, all things considered...!
And so it is not surprising at all to see this "Savy" dude (or, as I used to call him when he left the Blackhawks organization for the Canadiens, the "Savy without saavy" dude!) turn towards his cromagnon fanbase's most basic needs in order to kickstart his "Savard Entreprises" gig nowadays...
What makes no sense at all to me, though, is that NHL.com would list this old-timer who couldn't get it done (and never led his team(s) to the promised land - not even the Finals for crying out loud) amongst the PLAYER SITES of note TODAY... Look at it yourselves: it is there, among current players' personal webpages and all...! The list of current players is actually MISSING VITAL CURRENT PLAYERS STILL VERY MUCH ACTIVE AND PRODUCTIVE ON THE ICE AS WE TYPE AWAY FURIOUSLY AND FRUGALLY, still ... Active players such as the Boston Bruins' own Michael Ryder, who sure does have his own website and was instrumental in the demise of his old team, the Montreal Canadiens (just ask Habs pundit Stubbs about that!) and yet Ryder -and a number of other Bruins- is not/are not on the list there...?!?
This makes no sense at all - unless...
Unless the NHL is a bunch of putrid corporate sell-outs that will promote only those guys who PAY THEM ENOUGH IN ORDER TO HAVE A LITTLE PUBLICITY ON THEIR FREAKING NHL.COM...!
Pathetic - but the adage is true, you know: it takes money to make money.
If you don't have any to invest in order to make more, you will not make any more. Everybody knows THAT MUCH...!
And Savy has the saavy for so much, at least: he reinvests into the league that fed him, even as a lousy post-playing career coach (one of the worst ever indeed) - and, now, he expects the return on that investment... Some return he can get - as his website is simply listed among all the other guys, guys who simply have community interests on *their* websites...! Sure, so does Savy, but no one else but him has "Entreprises" and "INC." (both, yeah!) cited after their last name...!
Practically no one else (other than Sid The Kid, sure...) wants to sell you so much crap either...
Savy's Pizza... sheesh. I'd rather have Adam Oates' macaroni and cheese!
His precious pizza is only available at surrounding Windy City grocers anyways - and it is not as good as Delissio... Or delivery...!
